Hammers 2 Homes

A 6-week paid training program aimed at building affordable housing
& growing the workforce

Every person in our program leaves with multiple credentials and job opportunities in the construction industry working on affordable housing

Our program is delivered in partnership with the Government of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Community College.

We take students through a a 4 day per week training program over 6 weeks which covers a range of topics in residential construction. Each graduate will finish with multiple safety tickets, a certificate from NBCC, and the skills needed to thrive in the residential construction sector.

This program is open to anyone 18+ but we target people with barriers to employment or who are on the affordable housing waitlist. Our goal is to ultimately recruit the people who need affordable housing, train them on affordable housing projects, and connect them to housing through our partners at the John Howard Society of Southern New Brunswick and other frontline organizations.

Our program is free and each student is provided with a weekly stipend to support their training.

Each Student receives the one-on-one training and guidance they need to ensure they are set up for success when they walk onto the job site.

The First cohort of 6 students is scheduled for Mid January 2025

12 Participants will be accepted in 2025
Each Cohort is 6 weeks long and contains 6 students
We will work with all who graduate to connect you to work in the industry
