Our Team, Our Story
A community of builders.
The Saint John Tool Library is a membership-based library with over 800 tools, many unique and very useful for a specific purpose, a few specialized and useful materials for sale, and lots of helpful advice. We are located in Uptown Saint John at 100 Princess Street.
We host classes for common and requested DIY skills that homeowners can use to maintain and improve home and life for their families.
Share More
The Saint John Tool Library & DIY Workshop is a pillar of the sharing economy in Saint John, providing affordable memberships that give homeowners access to the tools, space, and help needed for renovations and projects. When we look around the city and see so many old buildings we recognize that our city needs this kind of support. We aim to provide space to use and borrow basic tools needed for renovations and landscaping so that we all consume less, share more, and support the life of our city.
At the tool library you can borrow a range of tools from a wrench to a table saw with over 800 tools in between.
Consume Less
Memberships starting at $125 give homeowners access to tools that so many of us pay a fortune to acquire and seldom use and lots of unique tools most of us would never find the budget for.
Our workshop is a fully-equipped woodworking shop and tinker space that allows members to construct a range of products in.
We also provide DIY classes on a range of topics every week to help empower people to take on their own projects, fuel DIY hobbyists, and train labourers for the construction industry.
